In a team

You notice what slips past others: the mood, the beauty, the small details of a better solution. You bring original ideas and thoughtfulness to a team, and around you, others feel freer to be creative too. It's worth agreeing on the less exciting, routine parts in advance, so you know what's yours and they don't all pile up at the end.

Studying and exam season

You learn most easily when the material means something to you, and when a topic moves you, you can go really deep. In exam season, a calm plan at your own pace helps: a bit less each day, but regularly. Draw mind maps and come up with your own examples, because what you create yourself is easier to recall.

Under stress

Heavy pressure, harsh criticism and rigid rules can affect you more than others, and things may stay with you long afterwards. It helps to get it out (in writing, drawing or music), and to hear criticism as feedback on your work rather than a verdict on you. If something keeps weighing on you, don't carry it alone: talk to someone you trust, or call the free Hungarian helplines Lelki Elsősegély (116-123) or, for young people, Kék Vonal (116-111).

Growth tips

  • Ask for feedback while your work is still unfinished: it comes in smaller doses and is easier to work with.
  • Find a rule that works for you: a fixed time slot for studying or creating doesn't take away your freedom, it gives it room.
  • Practise sharing your ideas out loud with the team: you often see things others miss.

For your first student job

  • If you can, look for work where creativity counts too, like decoration, assisting a photographer or helping at creative workshops.
  • At the interview, ask what the team atmosphere is like and how feedback is given: that matters to you.
  • In your first weeks, don't expect yourself to know everything straight away: everyone needs time to learn the ropes.
