In a team

You slip easily into any role on a team: organising when it's needed, brainstorming or smoothing things over. You get along with very different people, so you're often the bridge between the quiet and the loud, the planners and the idea people. Just make sure your own opinion gets heard amid all the adapting.

Studying and exam season

Lots of methods can work for you, so experiment: try group study, deep solo sessions and practice tasks, and notice which one actually moves you forward. In exam season, a simple plan you can stick to helps most. If one subject isn't clicking, don't generalise: it might just need a different method.

Under stress

It can be hard when you have too many options to choose from, or when you're trying to please everyone at once. It helps to write down what really matters to you and measure your decisions against that. Plan rest in advance for peak periods, like when exams and work overlap.

Growth tips

  • For a month, notice which tasks leave you full of energy and which leave you tired: that shows what really excites you.
  • Pick one area to go deep in, so there's something you stand out in.
  • When deciding, don't hunt for the perfect option: pick a good one and try it.

For your first student job

  • Feel free to start with whatever job is available: lots of settings can work for you, like hospitality, office work or customer service.
  • Treat your first jobs as experiments: note what you liked and what you didn't, so you can choose more deliberately next time.
  • Once you've settled in, ask what other tasks you could try at the company.
