Student jobs where this helps
Only ideas: you can apply for any job — your type is not a suitability criterion. Some jobs require you to be 18+.
Typical profile
In a team
You quietly hold things together in the background: you notice what people need, and you can always be counted on. You don't need the spotlight for the team to feel how much you add. If something bothers you or you have a good idea, share it one-on-one or in writing: your voice counts just as much as the louder ones.
Studying and exam season
You learn best somewhere calm, at your own pace and regularly, and it helps a lot to know what's coming. In exam season, start early and in small portions, so it doesn't all pile up in the last week. Before an oral exam, practise out loud, alone or in front of a friend: feeling prepared can take a lot of the edge off the nerves.
Under stress
Noise, crowds and rushed, unpredictable situations can tire you out quickly, and you may take other people's worries to heart. It helps to ask in advance what to expect, and to set aside quiet time to recharge at the end of the day. If something keeps weighing on you, talk to someone you trust: just saying it out loud can make it lighter.
Growth tips
- Practise standing up for yourself in small things, like saying which shifts work for you.
- When you help others, also notice what feels good for you.
- Every now and then, try a slightly busier situation at your own pace: you can learn a lot from it.
For your first student job
- If you can, look for calm, predictable work in a small team, like library work, admin or a quieter warehouse shift.
- At the interview, ask what a typical shift looks like and who will train you: knowing what to expect makes day one easier.
- If you don't understand something, ask, even in writing: questions aren't a bother, they're part of the job.
